About Us
Jayanand Mathakar Government Industrial Training Institute is one of the premier government vocational training institutes in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. Established in 1976, the institute has been committed to providing quality technical education, skill development, and industry-oriented training to empower youth for employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurship.
Located at Baherchawada on the Mumbai-Goa Highway in Sawantwadi, the institute operates under the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), Maharashtra, and is affiliated with NCVT/DGT, Government of India. The institute has earned recognition for its disciplined academic environment, skilled faculty, practical-oriented training system, and strong commitment toward nation-building through skill education.
The institute offers various engineering and non-engineering trades including COPA, Electrician, Fitter, Wireman, Welder, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Draughtsman Civil, ICT System Maintenance, Sewing Technology, Turner, Carpenter, and several other vocational courses designed to meet modern industrial requirements.
Our campus is equipped with well-furnished classrooms, workshops, laboratories, drawing halls, technical library facilities, smart classrooms, and practical training infrastructure that help students gain hands-on experience and technical competency. Industrial visits, on-job training, placement support, and campus interviews are regularly organized to bridge the gap between training and employment.
